Intertextuality and Women

Focusing on Women in the Media

About January 26, 2011

My name is Paige Elizabeth Danoff.

I come from a small town in Pennsylvania that knows no diversity.

I love to bake. Carrot cake is my favorite thing to bake. I almost dropped out of Alfred to pursue my passion for baking but changed my mind.

I change my mind a lot.

I came to Alfred as an Education major, then switched to English, and have finally found my place in Communications.

Traveling is by far my favorite thing to do. I love experiencing culture shock. Cambodia and Indonesia have been my favorite places so far. I’ve also traveled to Thailand, China, Japan, London, Croatia, Slovenia, and several others.

My goal for life is to be happy and successful. I would love a career in entertainment as an agent or marketing. Also, I would love  to keep traveling and experiencing the world.

As part of my Broadcasters, Advertisers, and Audiences class I am required to keep a learning journal blog. In this blog it was asked of us to explore the meaning of intertextuality across media platforms, and how gender is portrayed in these platforms. Hopefully, I will capture the true essence of intertextuality in the readings, class discussion, and class viewings enough to relay an accurate explanation of my findings.
